Happy Birthday Ryan!

"What did you think you'd be doing when you turned 23?" I asked Ryan this morning. "Working I suppose" then he laughed. Instead, we celebrated with corn pancakes and a quick hike around Palisade State Park where we camped. This morning we discovered little muddy paw prints all over the picnic table, probably a raccoon checking out our camp, which Ryan thought was a funny birthday surprise. Luckily the little snoop didn't get hold of anything other than our dish washing buckets, which he left more muddy prints on.

We're currently on our way to Badlands National Park where Ryan is excited to sleep under the stars and eat camp food. I apologized that we didn't have a better way to celebrate his birthday, and his response was, "there's a better way? I'm on a 100 day road trip!" Easy to please I suppose.

Regardless, I put in a reservation request for an all-you-can eat buffet at the Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone, where we'll be in five days. Ssshhh!! Don't tell Ryan. I'm hoping if the reservation goes through it will be a happy birthday surprise. :)

P.S. Seeing lots of motorcycles already. Sturgis is right around the corner!
